A laboratory built around information fusion
IAIIPL studies how measurement, information and intelligence combine into systems that act reliably in the physical world.
The Industrial Automation and Intelligent Information Processing Laboratory works at the intersection of control engineering, data and sensor fusion, and machine intelligence. Our interest is the full path from raw, imperfect measurement to a decision that must hold up in a real industrial, clinical or urban environment.
Research is method-driven rather than application-bound: the same fusion and estimation theory that improves a driver-assistance system also improves a diagnostic pipeline or a process controller. We work with partners across engineering and medicine, and we publish the methods rather than the demonstrations.
